2 More London Southwark

Comprehensive refurbishment of this More London Riverside building, providing upgraded space, a new entrance, reception and additional building amenity

In Numbers

  • 5.2m drop natural fabric curtains soften the space
  • 100m² Rosal Fleury Limestone
  • 25m² Pietra Serena Sandstone
  • 20m² additional greening
  • 35m² natural timber cladding

Completed in 2003 and designed by Foster and Partners, 2 More London is part of the More London development on the south bank of the Thames.

The proposals sought to update aspects of the original design, most notably a dark and tired reception space. A new palette of light and contemporary materials creates a welcoming feel with new joinery, greening, signage, and lighting complementing the refresh.

A new media screen provides visitors with updates on air quality, travel and visitor information.

Externally, the building entrance faces away from the main pedestrian approach. To address this, we have introduced an illuminated mesh wall with new branding, signage and a planter that gives the building a new identity from the street.

A large area of basement car parking has been converted into to high-end end-of-trip facilities including eight showers, WCs, and locker room.

Several vacant floors have been upgraded to CAT A spec with suspended raft ceiling expanded WC provision and new lobby finishes.
