6 Duke Street St James’s is a CAT A office refurbishment undertaken for Standard Life Investments. Located at the southern end of Duke Street, close to St James’s Square, the building offers premium quality office space with a newly designed reception space, new cycle parking, shower facilities and roof terrace.
The existing entrance had a poorly designed bulky canopy and imposing solid timber doors. The new entrance features a contemporary black anodised canopy and glazed doors that create a more welcoming street frontage. This, combined with enlarging the reception space by extending into the gallery next door, transforms the arrival experience and image of the building.
4 office floors were comprehensively redesigned incorporating superloos, bespoke signage and a new suspended ceiling. High quality materials including natural stone, timber panelling and hot rolled steel cladding were used throughout.
