6 Duke Street St James’s is a CAT A office refurbishment undertaken for Standard Life Investments. Located at the southern end of Duke Street, close to St James’s Square, the building offers premium quality office space with a newly designed reception space, new cycle parking, shower facilities and roof terrace.
The existing entrance had a poorly designed bulky canopy and imposing solid timber doors. The new entrance features a contemporary black anodised canopy and glazed doors that create a more welcoming street frontage. This, combined with enlarging the reception space by extending into the gallery next door, transforms the arrival experience and image of the building.
We also more recently designed a refurbishment to the sixth floor and roof terrace, creating a holistic modern scheme, incorporating superloos, bespoke signage and a new suspended ceiling. High quality materials including natural stone, timber panelling and hot rolled steel cladding were used throughout.
