Values
Environmental,
social and governance
Recognising our impact on the environment has been at forefront of our business since founding the practice in 1993. Barr Gazetas are committed to a management system that reduces the environmental impact of our activities at every stage, from design decisions and the sourcing of office services, to onsite supply chains and construction contractors. We are proud of our positive workplace culture and believe in our position as a force for good within the built environment industry. High levels of staff engagement and financial transparency sit alongside internal strategies for maintaining a sustainable and ethically-minded business, forming a long-term and resilient approach to our design and practice.
Our Net-Zero
Journey
Our in-house sustainability team promote our science-based net zero target as an integral part of all projects, with the consideration of materials, construction, durability and carbon footprint in each design decision forming part of our 2050 net zero target. Our supply chains play a vital role in achieving these aims and we include environmental performance and training in our selection criteria for consultants and contractors. Adopting carbon offsetting and promoting retrofit and the use of sustainable materials help us maintain our environmental management system to meet the requirements of ISO 14001:2015.
Design and technical
excellence
Barr Gazetas employ a rigorous system for managing the quality of our work to meet the requirement of ISO 9001:2015. As a RIBA chartered practice we adopt RIBA guidance to help deliver a reliable and competent architectural service to our clients and users of the buildings we design. Our internal stage processes and interim health checks for sustainability, design and quality form part of our milestone reviews alongside input from our design champions and technical director.
Working with
industry
Barr Gazetas are affiliated with a number of associations to help us deliver projects to industry recognised standards including BCO, UK-GBC, NLA, LFA, The London Society, CPA & WPA, The Academy of Urbanism, Women in Property, Architect’s Declare, AJ100 and LETI. We are proud of our connections with consultants and our repeat work with a number of clients including Grosvenor, The Crown Estate and British Land.
