A flag ship educational facility for the culinary arts, Le Cordon Bleu London provides state of the art facilities for the trainee chefs.

Barr Gazetas Architects transformed a 1980s office building into 26,000ft2 state of the art culinary facilities. These include lecture theatres with demonstration areas, practical kitchens, kitchens for cuisine, pastry and bakery, ‘smart’ classrooms, a student lounge, welfare facilities and main reception. As part of the project Barr Gazetas designed Le Cordon Bleu’s first European Café open to the public. Located in Pied Bull Yard behind the British Museum, the Café provides freshly made patisseries and a lunch menu for indoor or alfresco dining.

“I had very high expectations for this building, and our architects, Barr Gazetas, have surpassed them all”.

President of Le Cordon Bleu, André J. Cointreau

Barr Gazetas’ design philosophy provides the students with a modern educational experience without compromising the values of Le Cordon Bleu’s heritage. In the lecture theatres for demonstrations, perfect sight-lines and state of the art AV equipment provide up to 80 students with a productive learning environment. The use of flexible walls on the 4th floor provides either 4 ‘smart’ classrooms or a large open floor space for events and graduation ceremonies.
