A former brewery in the heart of Hogarth's Covent Garden has been transformed into an internet start-up space with exposed brickwork, steps and a relaxed work ethic.

Walls were sandblasted to expose the original brickwork, while past alterations such as stair details and malt ovens were left to show the patina of age. Cast iron columns were restored and brick arches cleaned and re-pointed to catch the light from dramatic new light sources. A solid oak floor ties together all 6,250ft2 of space on the ground and mezzanine floors. Similarly, solid oak is used for the new window boards and sills.

New balustrades of structural glass are used for maximum contrast to the textured brickwork. Sculptural light fittings are used to give effective office light but with a sense of drama in double height spaces.
